    Following Serena every week was a highlight for me, so locking chapters behind a paywall overnight feels like a blow to long-time fans. Changes like this need proper notice, not a sudden paywall after 140 free chapters.

    The weekly update of Serena is genuinely something I look forward to every week. I completely understand that translating webtoons takes a lot of time and effort, and that the work needs to be profitable. But suddenly deciding, from one day to the next, that the chapters are now going to be locked behind a paywall after around 140 translated chapters have been available for free for the past year is honestly incredibly disappointing.

    If the intention was always to make the chapters paid, this should have been communicated and introduced at the start of a new season, or at least with some kind of notice. Making such a significant change completely out of the blue feels unfair to the readers who have been following and supporting Serena for years.

    After building a readership around a certain model for so long, abruptly changing it without warning is a pretty poor way to treat your audience. Honestly, it feels like you’ve shot yourselves in the foot with this decision. You could have handled the transition in a much more respectful and reasonable way, but instead, it just comes across as unnecessarily rude and dismissive toward the people who have been here all this time :-:

      I completely share your frustration. It feels like a total slap in the face to the loyal readers who built the hype and kept the series afloat for so long. Readers invest their time and emotional energy into a story week after week, so suddenly putting a hard paywall in the middle of a run without any heads-up is just poor audience management.
      Nobody is saying creators and translators shouldn't get paid they absolutely deserve fair compensation for their hard work. But transparency is everything. A simple announcement like, "Hey, starting from Season X or Chapter Y, new releases will require coins/fast pass" would have allowed everyone to adjust their expectations gracefully. Dropping the paywall overnight just feels greedy and alienates the core community. I really hope the platform takes this backlash seriously and reconsidered how they handle updates in the future!

      Official drops are on fridays, but translation takes time so it's a bit delayed here. In this site it's depending on your time zone, but mine usually comes out around friday midnight entering saturday morning.
